Overnight lane closure on SW 10th (Updated Feb. 21, 2019)


Construction crews will close the center lane of SW 10th Avenue overnight Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 18, 19,  to receive new elevator equipment that will be installed in the garage. The closure was originally scheduled to occur over two nights, but was extended to include an addional night to complete the equipement delivery. The date of the final equipment delivery and lane closure will be provided here when it is confirmed.

The left and right lanes on SW 10th Avenue will remain open during the lane closure.

What: Center lane closure with flaggers directing traffic

Where: SW 10th Avenue, between Yamhill and Morrison streets

When: The nights of Monday, Feb. 18, Tuesday, Feb. 19, starting at 11:30 pm each night. The lane closure and flagging will continue until 5:15 am the next day.

An additional nighttime closure is needed to complete the delivery. The date will be provided here when confirmed.

Flaggers will direct traffic as crews unload and bring equipment into the garage.

The nighttime delivery will reduce travel disruption while the elevator equipment is unloaded and will not affect Portland Streetcar service. The garage will remain open for parking during the lane closure. Please use caution and follow all instructions from flaggers if using the garage or traveling through the area. 

The new elevators will be installed in the towers crews are currently constructing at the garage’s southwest and northeast corners.
