Sidewalk on Southwest 10th Avenue temporarily closed starting March 9

Construction crews will close the sidewalk on Southwest 10th Avenue along the 10th and Yamhill SmartPark Garage starting March 9, 2020. This closure is necessary to replace the curb ramp and sidewalk at the garage entrance. All crosswalks will remain open. Signs will direct sidewalk users to cross Southwest 10th Avenue and use the sidewalk on the west side of the street.

The driveway to the garage will remain open, but two of the four entrance/exit lanes will be closed to vehicle traffic during the concrete work.

Crews do not expect any disruption to Portland Streetcar service due to this work.

This construction work is scheduled to take approximately six weeks to complete. Activities include cutting and removing the existing concrete and asphalt, regrading, pouring new concrete and allowing it time to cure, and pouring new asphalt on the roadway shoulder. Crews expect to reopen the sidewalk and all four vehicle entrance/ exit lanes in mid-April.
