Crews are preparing to resurface the parking areas in the 10th and Yamhill SmartPark garage. Starting Monday, June 4, the top two levels of the garage will be closed. Partial closures will take place on lower floors in future weeks to allow for pressure washing, painting, and pavement coating.
Crews will stagger the work on different floors to maximize available parking in the garage while the resurfacing work is underway throughout the summer.
Signs and flaggers will direct drivers around closed areas in coming weeks. For everyone's safety, please follow all posted signage and do not enter closed areas.
What to expect during parking resurfacing
- The garage will remain open, but expect staggered closures of some parking areas throughout the summer.
- Noise is expected from pressure washing.
- Some people may notice an odor from the coating. It is not toxic.
Crews continue to make good progress on the project. Demolition of the ground floor retail areas is well underway. Crews are also demolishing the stair and elevator towers at the northeast and southwest corners of the building. Scaffolding and a barrier to contain debris are in place, as pictured above.
We'll continue to provide project updates and information on traffic changes and temporary closures on the project website and through email when there are major changes to report. The project is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2019.
Thanks for your patience during this temporary parking disruption.
